I often get asked, ‘Sabine, how do you find the time to take care of your health when you are so busy?’
Here’s the thing... I have a full medical practice with thousands of patients, and I spend many hours in the hospitals delivering babies and I have four children.
So, what I know is this: If I don’t look after my health, I simply won’t be able to survive the demands of every day and be able to live my very best life.
The reality is that if I don’t sleep well, I will not be able to perform well.
If I don’t eat well, my sugar will sky-rocket and affect all my other hormone levels.
If I don’t take time to move my body, I will be even more tired.
Let’s just get one thing straight - this is your only body in this lifetime.
Your body is the vessel that will bring you everything you want.
Don’t we have the responsibility to do whatever is possible to ensure we live our best life?
Who wants to live with pain?
My most successful patients changed their lifestyle habits because they were faced with two choices:
Live the life they want or live a life in pain.
It was that simple.
In last week’s video on depression, I spoke about the simple remedy of walking in nature, moving your body, and soaking up sunlight to raise your vitamin D levels and alleviate the feeling/onset of depression.
Too often, I see people not following any of these vital steps and instead choosing to take a pill.
Your body is trying to speak to you, it is trying to tell you to get back to basics so you can live your best life.
- Eat well
- Sleep well
- Move well
- Go outdoors/connect with nature
- Be mindful
Just as we would do with our children, we need to train our selves again to:
- Get off your electronics and get to bed early (and aim to sleep 8 hours)
- Take a bath to relax, not a shower
- Walk/move daily
- Schedule a massage to drain your lymph glands
- Be mindful of what you eat and how much
What single change can you commit to this week to support your health?
Comment below. I would love to hear.
