Are You Struggling with Estrogen Dominance?

Estrogen Dominance hosts a series of symptoms that so many women struggle with for years and years without knowing. This is risky because if unaddressed could promote diseases such as estrogen receptor positive breast cancer, auto-immune, dementia, Alzheimer's and so much more.

Estrogen Dominance is not only about producing too much estrogen or having high levels but the ratio or balance between estrogen and progesterone.

Symptoms such as:

  • Headaches and migraines premenstrually

  • Thyroid nodules

  • Cellulite and fat around the hips

  • Urticaria (hives)

  • Gallbladder removal (most common after pregnancy)

  • Fibroids

  • Endometriosis

  • Bloating (flat belly in the morning and bloated by evening), bloating before menses or ovulation

  • Thyroid & breast cancer

  • Hair loss

  • severe PMS/PMDD

  • Varicose veins

  • Mood swings including rage & anger outbursts

  • Heavy periods

  • Weight gain

  • Cold hands and feet

  • Lumpy breasts

  • Anxiety

  • Memory problems

  • Problems sleeping (insomnia/night wakings)

  • Low sex drive

A patient came to see me in her early 40's, she was struggling with:

severe mood swings before her periods, depression, fits of rage, weepiness, stubborn weight gain, insulin resistant, thyroid nodules & sluggish thyroid (excess estrogen slows down thyroid function), low sex drive, insomnia, severe bloating (to being pregnant size), migraines before and during menses and at ovulation, and a history of urticaria (hives).

She would experience foggy brain and forgetfulness; forgetting to pick up her mobile phone and leaving it behind, forgetting she was cooking resulting in burning food, and generally being quite accident prone.

She would go through periods of high stress (excess estrogen slows down the bodies ability to clear stress) and would struggle with recovering after exercise.

All classic symptoms of estrogen dominance.

Estrogens were not clearing well from her body and that's a high risk factor for breast cancer.

So this is a chain of events that could be avoided if we understand how to avoid estrogen dominance and also learn how to support the body to detox excess estrogen.
